UNLOCK/RELOCK THE BOOTLOADER

Hello guys .... We are now beginning the Journey Of transforming your device into a Beast...
Before performing any customisation we need to Unlock the bootloader Of your phone...

Bootloader locking is a safety mechanism by Motorola to protect your device. But it prevents any tinkering with your device... therefore it needs to be unlocked before rooting.

WARNING: UNLOCKING YOUR BOOT LOADER VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY.PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.

REQUIREMENTS--

YOUR PHONE OBVIOUSLY
A PC
MINIMAL ADB AND FASTBOOT PACKAGE
Motorola Device driver

1. Be sure to backup Your Apps,Contacts,Messages,etc. as they all will be wiped along with internal memory... You may use this app - SMSCONTACTSBACKUP

2. Download Minimal ADB and fastboot Package

3.Install Latest Motorola Drivers on your PC.

4.Switch Off your Device.

5.Put your phone in fastboot mode by pressing Volume Down Button + Power Key.

6. Open Minimal ADB and fastboot Folder And open A command Window By HOLDING SHIFT BUTTON and DOING A RIGHT CLICK.Now click on open command window here option.

7. Type this in the window  fastboot oem get_unlock_data.

8. You will See a text string now. Copy it all by a Right Click .Then select Mark...  Mark the text by    pressing the shift key-Now press Ctrl+C.

9.Paste all the lines together in a notepad. Remove the empty spaces.

10. Now go to the Motorola Site.Sign in using your Google account or Motorola ID. Scroll down the      page and paste the copied string in the field at step 9. Then click on ‘Can my device be unlocked?’,    after which a "REQUEST UNLOCK KEY" button will appear at the bottom of page.

11.To get your unlock key, select the ‘I Agree’ option. You will receive an email with your Unlock Key at       the email address you used to log in there.

12.Copy the 20-character key that Motorola sent you via email. Make sure your device is connected.

13. Then In the command window type Fastboot devices... If u get serial number of your device then your device is connected.

14. Now type Then type: fastboot oem unlock YOUR_KEY

NOTE: In above command, replace the word ‘YOUR_KEY’ with the unlock code that you got via email. 

15.Then hit enter and the unlocking process should begin. Wait for a while and soon you’ll see ‘Bootloader Unlocked’ warning on your Moto G(2nd Gen). 


CONGRATULATIONS... YOU HAVE UNLOCKED YOUR BOOTLOADER

To relock your bootloader,

1. Open the Command window in ADB and Fastboot package folder and type fastboot oem lock
