The Huawei Mate 9 was the first phone from the Chinese behemoth to come with Android Nougat — in the form of EMUI 5. Now it has announced which of its other phones will be updated to the latest version of Android and EMUI. This will come in the first quarter of 2017.
The phones eligible for the upgrade are:
- Huawei Mate 8
- Huawei P9
- Huawei P9 Plus
- Huawei P9 lite
- Huawei Nova
- Huawei Nova Plus
That is a pretty good spread of recent devices to get Nougat. Huawei will be releasing EMUI 5 in the form of beta tests first, followed by the general rollout. Thus far, the latest version of the skin has been praised as a nice change from previous iterations, so hopefully we are seeing the start of Huawei turning around its habit of bad software.
