This is the Guide on how to install TWRP 3.0 Recovery in Galaxy J7 (2016) (SM-J710F / FN / GN / MN / K) through Odin and get root access through SuperSu, to get the maximum And access options that are not available if you do not have root access.

Before Starting
  • We activate the option of USB Debugging, for this we look at: Settings-> Development Options.If you do not find this option, activate it from: Settings-> All-> About phone-> Compilation number. Then, we press 5-7 times on the compilation number, until a message announces that we are already developer. Next, we go to Configuration -> Development Options and activate the USB Debugging. We also enable "Allow OEM unlocking", if this option is available.
  • We also ensure that we have drivers installed  Samsung USB drivers  on the PC, so you can connect the device with your computer correctly

  • To be on the safe side and if something goes wrong, we always recommend making a  backup  of all personal data from the device.

Files Needed to Follow the Guide

Download  TWRP-3.0.xx-j7xelte.img.tar

Download  SuperSU 2.65.zip  and transfer the file to the phone memory.


Step 1: We turn off the phone. Then press and hold the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons together until a screen with a warning signal appears. Release all the buttons and press the volume up button to confirm and proceed to the download mode.

Step 2: Next, we connect the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) using the USB cable, run Odin select "AP / PDA" in the window that appears and place the TWRP Recovery file you've downloaded according to the phone model, Untouched No other choice. Once you have clicked, click on "START".

Step 3:  Once the process starts, wait until "PASS" appears in green on the Odin screen. This step will install TWRP Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). The phone will restart automatically.

Step 4:  Next, we need to put the device in recovery mode . To do this press and hold the Volume up + Home + Power and continue pressing until the phone enters the recovery.

Step 5:  Once in TWRP Recovery menu, choose "Install". Select the file "SuperSU-v2.67" that we downloaded and transferred in the phone storage and slide to rotate the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). We wait for the Flash process to finish and click "Restart the system" to restart the device.
