This statistic shows Apple iPhone sales worldwide from the third quarter of 2007 to the company's most recent financial quarter ( Q4,2016). The iPhone just completed a decade since Steve Jobs first annouced the iPhone launch on Jan7th,2007. Incidently Q1,2015 along with Q1,2016 saw iPhone sales reaching its all time high of almost 75million sales.. which is the highest so far in iPhone sales history..Q2,15 was the next highest selling sales quarter for iPhone is it sold over 61 million smartphones globally
In the second quarter of 2011, 18.65 million iPhone's were sold worldwide as compared to 72 million iPhone sold in the entire 2011 fiscal year. Steve Jobs when he had announced the iPhone has mentioned about targeting 1% of global smartphone market. Today its share of the high-end, high-profit smartphone market is huge, though, with Apple earning between 60% and 70% of the worldwide profit on smartphones in 2013.
Apple revealed during its last earnings call in 2016 that it has sold over a billion iPhone Smartphones.As of October,2016 Apple has sold 45.51 million iPhone in the three months ended Sept. 24, beating the average analysts' estimate of 44.8 million, according to research firm FactSet Street. However, it was the third quarter in a row of falling iPhone sales, and the company's revenue fell 9% to $46.85 billion, marking the third straight quarterly decline.
