The Alt right website Breitbart has just now declared war on Kelloggs. Right wing news portal Breitbart is at war with the world’s largest breakfast cereal brand after Kellogg’s abruptly ceased advertising on the website on Tuesday, saying that it was not ‘aligned with our values’. The breakfast brands decision was met with fury by Breitbart’s editorial team who declared ‘#War’ on the business with the #DumpKelloggs” campaign which is exhorting its readership to refrain from eating the likes of Coco Pops, Rice Krispies and Frosties in retaliation.

Breitbart editor-in-chief Alexander Marlow said: “For Kellogg’s, an American brand, to blacklist Breitbart News in order to placate left-wing totalitarians is a disgraceful act of cowardice. They insult our incredibly diverse staff and spit in the face of our 45,000,000 highly engaged, highly perceptive, highly loyal readers, many of whom are Kellogg’s customers. Boycotting Breitbart News for presenting mainstream American ideas is an act of discrimination and intense prejudice. If you serve Kellogg’s products to your family, you are serving up bigotry at your breakfast table.

In response, Breitbart launched its #DumpKelloggs petition to encourage its vast readership and the followers of its #1 in the world political Facebook and Twitter pages to ban bigotry from the breakfast table by boycotting Kellogg’s products. ”

In October, the site drew 19.2 million unique visitors, up nearly 50% from 12.9 million visitors in the same month last year, according to comscore.Breirtbart is among the alt right news websites which has defended and stood up for Donald trump as the american presidential candidate and has been seen as one of Donald Trump's biggest support base. Breitbart took a pro-Trump stance during the campaign, supporting the Republican candidate’s views on immigration and national security. The company’s executive chairman, Steve Bannon, who is on a leave of absence, was Trump’s campaign manager and has been named chief White House strategist.

Breitbart in turn is has declared war on the Brand and breakfast cereal maker Kellogg Co. by launching a Twitter campaign #DumpKelloggs that encourages its readers to sign a petition and boycott the maker of such favorites as Froot Loops and Apple Jacks.

On Wednesday, Breitbart placed an article about its #DumpKellogs campaign in the top slot of its homepage. By early afternoon, the article had drawn more than 6,000 reader comments, many in support of the boycott. "Kellogg's decision to blacklist one of the largest conservative media outlets in America is economic censorship of mainstream conservative political discourse. That is as un-American as it gets,” Breitbart said in a statement. The cereal company said that it advertises on a large number of websites, “so occasionally something is inadvertently missed. In this case, we learned from consumers that ads were placed on Breitbart.com and decided to discontinue advertising there.Since Most brands run ads via ad networks or third parties and Ad exchanges RTB ( Real Time Bidding),they dont often get to know where it ads actually are run and  cannot track all of its publishers.

Other companies that have pulled their ads from Breitbart in recent weeks include the insurance giant Allstate and the ad exchange AppNexus,Nest, EarthLink, Warby Parker and SoFi, according to Digiday. Last week, AppNexus deactivated Breitbart News after an audit of the site’s content determined that it violates the advertising network ban on hate speech.

Breitbart website was founded by Andrew James Breitbart in 2007 by conservative commentator and entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart was an American conservative publisher commentator for The Washington Times, journalist, author and television and radio personality on various news programs, who served as an editor for the Drudge Report website. Some of Breitbart’s most controversial stories have had referred to “Muslim invaders”, and a “Renegade Jew” and said “Women Should Log Off” the internet if they face online harassment.
