why twitter ceo was missing at trump's meeting with silicon valley's bigwigs
Their combined brand's net worth was more than $136 billion when a dozen or so technology companies CEO's filed into a conference room on the 25th floor of Trump Tower yesterday wearing suits not usually seen in Silicon Valley. From Facebook to Apple, Tesla,Google, Microsoft,IBM and Amazon .The CEO's were given a rare hearing by president elect Donald Trump...And Jeff Bezoz was there too. Donald Trump whose relationship with Amazon CEO who owns "The Washington post" was acrimonious to say the least over what " Trump called " biased coverage during the US Presidential elections were yesterday at all smiles.
Donald Trump also was on his best behavior during the roughly two-hour meeting. "This is a truly amazing group of people," he said. "There's nobody like you in the world. And anything we can do to help this go along, and we're going to be there for you.For a change Trump seemed willing to back down from a signature campaign promise to end free trade deals. "We're going to make fair trade deals," he told the executives. "We're going to make it a lot easier for you to trade across borders.""The CEOs of Airbnb and Uber were invited but they were not present.
However one exception to the CEO's who were present with Trump was the absence of Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey.According to Politico Twitter was "bounced" and ejected from Wednesday's meeting between tech executives and President-elect in retribution for refusing during the campaign to allow an emoji version of the hashtag #CrookedHillary
Apparently Jack Dorsey absence be in the meeting along with other silicon valley Tech CEOs stemmed from Twitter CEO role in rejecting the anti-Clinton emoji which was supposed to be used in lieu of hastag #CrookedHillary
Ironically with 17.5 billion followers, Twitter has been the president elect favorite and most potent sounding board even after he won the elections. That the CEO was Twitter was not invited even after his success with the micro blogging platform is hard to believe, unless there were political reasons that kept Jack Dorsey out of the meeting
Trump's campaign also made a $5 million deal with Twitter before the election, in which the campaign committed "to spending a certain amount on advertising and in exchange receive discounts, perks, and custom solutions," the campaign's director of digital advertising and fund raising, Gary Coby, wrote in a post last month. So the campaign objected when the company refused to allow the anti-Clinton emoji to users as a replacement for the hashtag #CrookedHillary, a preferred Trump hastag for his Democratic opponent.
According to Coby Dorsey personally intervened to block the Trump operation from deploying the emoji,Apparently many of Donald Trump's close advisors believe that though Twitter claims to promote and protect the free exchange of ideas, Its top leadership is a virtual hostage to left wing ideology.
However Trump adviser Sean Spicer later denied the report, telling MSNBC that "the conference table was only so big and it could not no away have accommodated so many of them
